The Berkeley Half Marathon invites athletes to apply for elite or sub-seeded status for our half marathon event. The race will distribute complimentary or discounted entries based on past performance.
Elite and Sub-Seeded Athlete bib placements are limited and these participants will receive placement in the front of the pack at the beginning of the race. The requirements and applications for Elite and Sub-Seeded registration are explained below and involve a thorough check of past performances.
Elite Athlete Requirements and Application
The first 250 athletes that meet the elite qualifying standards receive complimentary entries. Elite Athletes will also receive placement at the front of the race. Times must have been achieved in the past 2 years to be considered.

Men:
Full Marathon: Sub 2:40 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:18
Women:
Full Marathon: Sub 3:00 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:28
Elite Application
Sub-Seeded Athlete Requirements and Application
The first 250 athletes that meet the sub-seeded qualifying standards receive discounted entries. Sub-Seeded Athletes will also receive placement just behind the Elite Athletes at the beginning of the race. Times must have been achieved in the past 2 years to be considered.

Masters (40+) – Full Marathon: Sub 3:10 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:30
Masters (55+) – Full Marathon: Sub 3:40 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:40
Masters (75+) – Full Marathon: Sub 4:10 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:55
Women:
Open – Full Marathon: Sub 3:20 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:40
Masters (40+) – Full Marathon: Sub 3:38 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:44
Masters (55+) – Full Marathon: Sub 4:00 / Half Marathon: Sub 1:50
